65 year old couple one disabled. Closest upscale or luxury hotels near Freedom Trail.
65 year old couple will be in Boston for two or three days in early September. In what area should we stay if we intend to mostly walk and do you have moderately priced hotel suggestions? Is there a hop on and off bus or trolley tour? What are the must-sees in the city? Thinking of a one day trip to Cape Cod or Hyannisport. Good idea? We will be getting off of a cruise and then leaving from Logan. I suppose a taxi would be best with luggage.
Judy, welcome to the forum. Please start your own thread (use the "Ask a question" button). Your question is different than the original poster (asking for different types of hotels) and may interfere with their ability to get their own answers.
To the OP, the closest luxury hotels to the start of the Freedom Trail would be Nine Zero and The Ritz Carlton (which is perhaps just a bit further). The Four Seasons are also very close to Boston Common, but not quite as close to the spot where the FT starts.
There's also the XV Beacon, which is a luxury boutique hotel on Beacon St. near Park St.
DVD beacon, omni Parker house, nine zero, Ames all contenders. We use millennium Bostonian but not sure how upscale you want.
The Marriott Custom House is the luxury hotel I like best near the Freedom Trail.
XV Beacon is probably the most luxurious of the hotels mentioned and is well-situated for the Freedom Trail.
Does anyone have a comment on the Hyatt Regency's proximity to the Freedom Trail or should we choose from the prior answers? Thank you very much.
You know, the Freedom Trail is 2.5 miles long.
Google Maps, an excellent resource for such questions, says it's .3 miles from the hotel to the corner of Park and Tremont, which is where most people start.
