What are you looking to see or do? Restaurants? Beaches? Shopping? Scenery? Do you mean that Hyannis is a must on a visit to Cape Cod and that you want to see more of the Cape?

I wouldn't do a day trip to the cape as it's too far and you wouldn't get to see much. If you really want to do it, I think taking the ferry to Provincetown is the best way. It's 90 minutes each way and the town is a lot of fun. There are museums, shopping, people watching, restaurants, bars, beach, etc.

I agree with bmoruzzi. It a great, fun day taking the fast ferry to Provincetown. By the time you factor in the car rental, gas and your driving time, the cost is similar and you'll have more fun on the ferry.

Thank you for your input. We were just thinking of doing a bus trip. But looking at other replies might do the ferry trip.

Thanks

The Fast Ferry to Provincetown is a better choice if you only have one day. You can easily spend your time in Provincetown and the ferry trip is more enjoyable than the drive.
