Day Bus or Ferry Trips

We will be cruising from Quebec to Boston, arriving Boston Sept 7th and looking to stay a couple of days. Thinking of spending one day on one of the hop on/hop off tours (which one is best?) and one day getting outside of town...maybe Hyaniss or Cape Cod? What would you recommend?

Hyannis is on Cape Cod. You can take a bus from Boston - it is a 2 hour trip from the city. You would then need to take a local bus from the Transportation Center to the shops & restaurants, etc. You can also take the fast ferry from Boston to Provincetown which is at the very end of Cape Cod. You would not need any additional transportation once you get there, unless you wanted to take a shuttle to the beach.

For planning purposes, both of these options would make for a very long day. There is a lot to see & do in Boston, you would be able to keep busy for 2 days easily.

Another option would be a chartered bus tour of the Cape which would be less stressful than trying to figure out all the logistics. Here are a couple:

I really wouldn't bother going to the cape for the day unless you're planning on taking the ferry from Boston to Provincetown. It's 90 minutes each way.

Yes, if you are here only a couple of days, skip the Cape. There's plenty to do in Boston.
