Going to Wang Theatre

Hi

We will be going to the Wang theatre and wonder if it is better to eat in the area or somewhere else before we go over there. Sometimes restaurants are so busy pre-theatre that the food isn't worth it. Also, if I'm in the Copley Sq. area what is the best way to get there?

You can actually walk to the Wang from Copley Square. So make a reservation wherever you wish there and walk over. Or a quick taxi ride. Or even the T, if you wish.

Just make a reservation. A few places in the general vicinity to consider are Market in the W Hotel, Teatro, Legal Park Square. There are others. Walk or take the T 2 stops from Copley to Boylston or cab.

there are tons of restaurants in that area, so it really isn't an issue if you want to eat before the show. In addition to the places mentioned, Chinatown is right next door and you can take your pick of any place before or many places after the show.

Thanks for the help and restaurant suggestions. Would like some more restaurant suggestions for the area. looking at either steak or Italian, 30 - 40 dollars a person. The T is the subway then?

You can walk from Copley or take the T--subway--from Copley to Arlington or Boylston, depending on where you are eating. See the route planner at www.mbta.com

Look at Grill 23 for steak, though it might be a bit more expensive than your range, and Via Matta for Italian. Grill 23 is on the way to the Wang from Copley, and Via Matta is right in Park Square.

If you want Steak or Italian, then check out either Fleming's Steak house or Maggiano's for Italian. Both are good, for chain places.

Depending what kind of cuisine you like, there are plenty of options in the theater district. I've had great pre-show experiences at Teatro, Tantric Bistro (Indian), Sips wine bar, and Bistro du Midi. As long as you tell them ahead of time that you are going to a show, they'll be very accomodating. Good Luck!
