Breakfast in financial district

Hi we are coming to Boston next week and staying at Ames hotel which doesn't have any restaurant at the moment. Where can we go for a good breakfast? We are interested in American breakfast ... Pancakes eggs etc and of course good coffee! Hotel is in court street in the financial district so we would like something close by before we start our sightseeing day.

Thank you.

the Millennium Bostonian restaurant (North 26) has a wonderful a la carte breakfast menu (open to non-residents) with all the usual fare as well as indulgent choices - lobster omelette etc. And the coffee is great!

It's less than 5 minutes from the Ames - on North St and you can have breakfast whilst enjoying the view across to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market.

Enjoy!

You could try The Hungry Traveler at 29 Court Square; it's only 100 yards away from the Ames.

The Ames is in a great location that is technically in the Financial District, but very close to Faneuil Hall too. There are lots of places downtown to get breakfast although it does not appear so at first. The casual cafes usually offer different simple breakfast choices including eggs, bagels etc. Pancakes might be a bit harder to find. Some of these cafes are very simple with no atmosphere, by the way. One example would be Deli One on Arch Street. Paramount is a real favorite, with a large breakfast menu, but this would be a little bit of a trek for you. If you were headed towards Beacon Hill or Back Bay, though, that would be a great way to start your day (perhaps take a cab; otherwise I would guess it is a 20 minute walk).

Other hotels may also offer breakfast, such as the Langham. There is a great and beloved breakfast and lunch place elsewhere in Boston called Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe, on Columbus Avenue. Another good choice if you really want the American breakfast joint kind of experience, but you would need to take a cab there. Possibly some of the cafes in Faneuil Hall offer a cooked breakfast, but I'm not sure about that.
