Any ideas when they will have the parade? Will they wait until Saturday (heavy rain is forecast for Friday)? Just curious....

The Boston Duck Tours tweeted last night it would be Saturday but the City didn't confirm this AM the exact details. The city will announce the official details this afternoon, but it's looking like Saturday.

The talk is that it's going to be Fenway Park to Copley Square (and symbolically at the Finish Line). Yeesh. I hope they rethink that. Remember 2007, when they went into the Charles at the end? That pretty much handled the issue of all the fans ending up in one place. We didn't. Not trying to make a controversy here. I just can't imagine a million plus around Copley Square. How about the Common? (I admit I'll be contributing to whatever The Powers That Be decide.)

Firewind:

According to the Boston Herald, the Duck Boats will go into the Charles as other parades have done in the past:

The parade will wind its way from Fenway at 10 a.m. and will splash down in the Charles River.

“The ducks are ready, the fans are ready, the city is ready,” Menino said. “I’m so proud of Boston today.”

The parade will follow the 2004 championship route, starting at Fenway Park, going down Boylston Street and splashing into the Charles River by the Museum of Science.
