Freedom Trail Bars

Hi, coming into Boston for a guys trip December 6th-9th. We are staying at the Liberty Hotel, and going to the Patriots game on Sunday. We would like to walk the Freedom Trail on Saturday and do a pub crawl at the same time. First, any good spots for breakfast? Second, what pubs/bars will we find on the Trail? Any descriptions or additional info will be appreciated. Thank you!

Such a great question! There are bars on the trail itself or within one block of the trail . . . Union Oyster House is historic, try to sit at the original bar (which is also the raw bar). There are "Irish" bars scattered around, although some of them feel quite corporate. But the Black Rose is not far from Faneuil Hall, and it's one of the older ones, I think. Not sure about the North End but I hope others can answer. There are many restaurants, centered on Hanover Street. There is a small bar at Mama Maria's on North Square (facing the Paul Revere House) (perhaps it's only open at dinner, I don't know).

For breakfast, maybe the Paramount on Charles Street? It's only a couple of blocks from your hotel, and it is a perennial favorite around here.
