First visit to Maine

We plan to arrive in Boston in late June and have 5 nights, we want to travel out of Boston and stay somewhere away from the city, not sure wether to travel up to Maine or Rhode Island or Cape Cod.. we love beaches, small towns, good food etc etc, would love suggestions , advice or views on this..we will have a car and fly out of Boston to England on 12th July.. Thanks in advance for your help..

Are you staying in Boston for 5 nights and then traveling somewhere else for the rest of your trip, a week or so? I would recommend staying on the cape for a few days at least. You could also check out Newport, RI. Spend half the time on the cape and half in Newport.
