New Years Day? Bad timing for things to be closed?

Is this recognized as a major holiday or not? I cant recall right now.. wll be in San Diego from Dec. 27 to Jan 1/2.. I guess if I fly out that day it wont be a big deal.. but it was just brought to my attention and wanted to double check..

Thanks..

Its not as bad as Thanksgiving. You will find some things open. Hotel Coronado for a lunch maybe?

San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park - quite a way away are open every day of the year.

http://www.sandiegozoo.org - buy tickets online before you go.

The interactive science museum in Balboa Park is open. The USSMidway is open and I think the Harbor Cruises are open as well. This is in addition to th epreviously mentioned zoo and Wild animal park. You should be fine.
