Days Inn Mission Valley

Planning a trip to San Diego on the 2 May 2009, for three of four nights, part of our big USA, Canada and Alaska trip.

On the website saw that this hotel would only cost US59.49 for two adults and 2 children aged 6 and 7, this includes a 'free daybreak breakfast' per night.

Is this hotel OK, and close to public transport.

The main attractions that we want to see, are Seaworld and the Zoo. Would of liked to see the Wildlife Park also, but understand that this is about 40 minutes out. Is there public transport out to this park?

Your help would be appreciated.

IF you are talking about the Days Inn on Adobe Falls RD then NO that would not be a good place to stay.

The price is WAY too low for our area and the reason is that it is not convenient unless you have a car.

It is not walkable to our lightrail and is east of the attractions and most of the city.

Is your budget able to go higher than that ?

There are many reasonably priced motels but they will be closer to $100 and up.

The Balboa Park Inn is a possibility. It is right across the street from the park and easy access to buses to the zoo and downtown where you can get the lightrail.

Another idea is :

http://www.oldtown-inn.com/index.asp

Old Town State Park is an area that has easy access to our buses and lightrail which will take you to SeaWorld and to the zoo and Balboa Park and downtown along the harbor.

There is also another Comfort Inn /Hotel Circle which would be closer to things.

Let me know if these are OK for your budget.

The Wild Animal Park is not easily accessible without a car unless you take a tour BUT I think with young children that going to SeaWorld and the zoo + parks, harbor etc. will be plenty.

My standard recommendation for the under $100 price range is the EZ-8. Easy walk to Old Town transportation, restaurants and shops. See all the reviews. tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60750-d226602-…

If you are talking about the Days In on Camino Del Rio South then for $60/per night it is a decent choice.

This Days Inn is right acroos the street from the #120 bus that will take you to downtown. The Fashion Valley shopping mall and the above ground light-rail train are about a 1/2 mile from the Days Inn.

Right, there are a number of Days Inns in San Diego. I believe the one called Days Inn Mission Valley is the one on Adobe Falls referred to by Riffsmom and is not convenient. The Days Hotel Circle tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60750-d556822-… on the other hand, would be convenient if you can get that property.
