I too am having part of my honeymoon in San Diego! We decided to split our week, 4 nights downtown, 3 nights by the beach. This way we get the best of both worlds. Perhaps you could do something similar with Coronado?

IF you'll have a rental car then you could stay in Coronado and be downtown in about 15min. WithOUT a car it is a different story!

Coronado! It's so beautiful and romantic, and you can always take the ferry to downtown if you want some nightlife.
