B&B's in San Diego

Does anyone know of some good B&B's in San Diego, preferably in or around Balboa Park? We want to stay in one of the neighborhoods where we have easy walking or short trolley rides to restaurants and happy hour bars. After a day of sightseeing, we just want to relax locally and enjoy San Diego in the late day. Thank you.

The trolley(our lightrail) does not go near Balboa Park.

You'll be walking and/or using buses if you stay in a local neighborhood near it.

IF you want to stay in areas with the best public transit(including lightrail) then you need to stay in downtown,Little Italy , or Old town.

IF you still want to stay near the park then you might try the Banker's Hill Inn or a less expensive choice might be the Balboa Park Inn.

Is there a reason you prefer a B&B to a hotel??

They are not necessarily less expensive!

You can read about other options by clicking on Hotels on the left side of this page and then choosing B&Bs.

You might have a look at the Balboa Park Inn next door to the park.

In Banker's Hill across Sixth Avenue from the park there are a few.

Britt Scripps

The Keating House

Bankers Hill Manor

Little Italy is a short distance and easy to get to/from Balboa Park with lots of restaurants, cafes, etc. There are a couple of B&B's there like the Little Italy Inn, The Italian B&B, and the boutique La Pensione.

I think the Britt Scripps Inn is the best, Hillcrest House is good too.
