Honeymoon First stop 1st May 2013

Hi Guys,

Have booked the first stop of our honeymoon staying in San Diego for three nights and wondered what people recomend to do in San Diego. Where are some good places to go and explore etc?

Just want a ruff idea really. We arrive late on the 1st day so we realy have two days in the city to explore before heading off to Oahu for 2 weeks.

Many thanks for your time and help.

San Diego is a large spread out city with lots to see/do.

You haven't told us about your interests?

Where are you staying and will you have a car?

That might make a difference as to what you can easily do.

The hop on hop off "trolley" tour listed above will give you a good beginning.

It stops at Balboa Park with its lovely gardens, small museums of all sorts, artisan shops, live theater, and outdoor entertainment(mostly on weekends).

That is also where the SD zoo is located.

The tour also goes along the downtown bayfront with its ships to visit.

Then it goes across the short bridge to Coronado where there's a gorgeous beach , an historic Victorian hotel and the passenger ferry that also crosses the bay.

IF you had a car you'd be able to do all these things on your own as nothing is very far away.

For folks who like the outdoors there are also miles of scenic bike trails along the ocean and perhaps a visit to our La Jolla neighborhood where you'll see the seals on the beach and the rock enclosed(cove beaches).

IF you don't have a car there's a tour that leaves from near the downtown train station:

IF you had a car I'd also tell you to go to Cabrillo National Monument for some gorgeous views and a bit of California history.

Stay at Del Coronado hotel. Visit SD Zoo, shop in LaJolla after walking beach, and dine at Bertrand at Mister A'S (Wonderful views over City).
