Hi everyone. I will be getting married and November 23 and stopping for 2 days in San Diego before driving up the coast to LA and Las Vegas.

We will be staying in Downtown San Diego. We will be arriving around 2 pm on the 25th and checking out on the 27th.

Is this a good area to stay in? Is there a lot to do in this area? My fiancé and I are interested I restaurants and going to see the MUST SEE of San Diego? We have a limited time but want to do the MOST that we can.

Any MUST restaurants that we should go to?

Please give me some feedback how I can make my 2 days in San Diego memorable. Also, I'd like to visit the La Jolla, Coronado Springs and the pier in which the filmed the movie "Back to the Beach".

Are all these places close to each other? Please, please help!

Hi Jennifer! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Sounds like you're going to have a fun Honeymoon!

First - your dates and traffic. You are leaving SD on Wed, Nov 27 which is a very, very busy travel day. If it were me I would maximize your time here on that day, eat dinner and then get on the road to LA. Maybe spend 2 or 3 hrs in La Jolla, have dinner there?

When you say Coronado Springs do you mean Coronado Island? Coronado is only about 10 - 15 minute drive from Downtown SD. Very much worth a visit. Cute Village with restaurants and the historic Hotel del Coronado.

I think (?) you might be referring to the pier in Pacific Beach, the Crystal Pier. Cute and you can combine with visiting PB.

Hi Jennifer,

I did a quick search on IMDb for the filming locations of "Back to the Beach," and the four locations listed were either in Malibu or Santa Cruz, not San Diego.

As far as where to stay in San Diego, Downtown is great with plenty of restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp District. Little Italy, just north of downtown, is also quite nice. And, if you want more of a Spanish / Mexican feel, then Old Town would be in order.

If you spend a day in Balboa Park (home to the San Diego Zoo and 14 museums), then I would consider a lunch break at The Prado restaurant right in the park.

Also, just west of the park at 5th and Laurel is Cucina Urbana with some amazing Italian food and great service.

Enjoy your visit.
