Likely to be warm but rarely too hot near the coast.

If you don't like the heat it's not the time to go places like the Safari Park or Temecula. It can also get pretty warm at the Zoo so best to go first thing in the morning. It's also when the animals are more active. The further you go inland from the coast it does get very hot in Aug. Frequently over 100 degrees F.

Thankyou that sounds just great. We were in Las Vegas in August last year and survived that heat!!!!

Here in San Diego the coastal strip has mild temps all year long!

Many of us who live near the ocean don't even have aircon!

I hope you enjoy your visit!

We vacationed in San Diego last August and had wonderful weather. We stayed at the Hyatt Mission Bay, down from Sea World, near the coast. Didn't need a sweater, except for going out to dinner in the evening.

It was very warm at the Zoo. Remember to bring sunscreen. We took the double decker bus around at the entrance and sat upstairs. Even in the morning the sun is strong.

Have a great trip, SD has so much to see.

Been to SD in March, Septermber and November and only suffered prickly heat in Sept when temps touched into the 90s out at Point Loma and dear hubby had terrible hayfever from the lovely plants and flowers at the zoo

August = warm, sunny, sometimes humid and sometimes breeze-less even at the beaches. We had very hot & humid weather towards the end of this past August. However, I think it still beats weather elsewhere in the country :)
