area or hotel for 4 nights in San Diego with kids in April?

Hi, we are staying 4 nights in San Diego April 11-15th, at the end of our 3 week holiday. Last 2 nights in LA.

Could anyone recommend a decent mid range price hotel.? We have two boys aged 11&9, who love sport, the beach and the outdoors in general. We will have a car and San Diego zoo is on our agenda long with Sea World.

Any suggestions of areas in San Diego to look for hotels? Looking at Mission Beach area, or Coronada etc

Thanks xx

Coronado is a great place to stay. Have a look at the Glorietta Bay Inn and the Coronado Marriott. Both are within walking distance to lots of restaurants.

Mission Beach doesn't have many hotels. Pacific Beach next door has a lot of hotels and restaurants within walking distance. The Catamaran, Best Western Blue Sea Lodge, Pacific Terrace are a few.

I agree with e-lizzie's suggestions. It is also hard for us to know what the words "mid range" mean to you?? Everyone's definition of that seems a bit different so if you give us an actual number in USA$$s that you'd like to spend we may have more specific recs that would fit that exact budget.
