My complaint is about deceptive practice of the rental agent. When I picked up the car, agent encouraged me to include pre-paid gas, which I agreed to. When I saw the bill, it seemed more that my quoted price (I did not have original quote with me). When I asked the agent, he told me only what I had requested on my original reservation was included in the agreement, plus the prepaid gas. When I returned from my trip, I compared the 2 receipts. The agent had tacked on additional fees: "loss and damage waiver $45" and "tripsaver $29.95." I have loss and damage waiver coverage on the credit card I used, and I have AAA, so would not have consented to "trip saver"- a roadside assistance plan. The agent deliberately did not answer my question about discrepancy in cost. Non of the added fees were explained to me (except the prepaid gas, which frankly I would not do again because it would have cost less to fill the tank myself).
When I called customer service, they explained what the additional charges were, but the said I had signed the contract, so there was nothing they would do to correct it.
