Trendy restaurants SD

Hi,

We are a couple in our late 20's looking for trendy restaurants in San diego (for 2 nights out in late April).

We like good looking places (trendy/urban), crowdy/noisy, and are open to all kind of food.

Thx for your suggestions!

The newest trendy is Chef Richard Blais' Juniper and Ivy in North Little Italy. It opened less than one month ago. Weekend reservations go quickly. "Urban loud" is a great description, but in a classy and chic atmosphere. Service was terrific. Menu was what you'd hope it would be. Food was inspired.

I do not understand why "trendy" must="loud"? Interesting to see that we are even more old fashioned than we realized since a loud restaurant would not be on my "to visit" list ever!!

Riff, Agree! Hence for us, the outdoor heated patio. Much quieter!

In my book, trendy= is currently attracting locals -> you should expect crowds and noise.

Was simply to make it clear that we don't mind crowded places as this seems to be a concern in other posts.

We still need a place for the second night if you got some other place up your sleeve.

Cheers

Trendy & urban? Does quality of food matter?

Yes the quality of food matters but is not our priority.

So then check out Under Belly, D Bar, Davanti Enoteca, Craft & Commerce, Pizzeria Mozza, PrepKitchen, Blue Ribbon Rustic Kitchen and maybe Bankers Hill Bar & Restaurant.

I'd also add Cucina Urbana to the list.

Not all of us here are over 50 so I get what you are asking for. :-)

I must have been old fashioned my whole life since I didn't like noisy restaurants when I was 40!!!!
