Small Boat Tours

We are returning to Wellfleet, and are looking for a someone to take us on a nature tour using some sort of smaller water craft, such as canoes, kayaks or zodiacs. We took one a couple of years ago and loved it, but can't seem to find anybody offering this.

I think you’re best bet is going to be looking in Eastham, Orleans and Chatham – in those towns, even along the ocean side, you get those marshy inlets that are best suited for kayaks and there are several companies that provide tours and rentals.

If you do want to stick to Wellfleet the harbor is really the only place that’s protected enough for that kind of boating and you’d have to arrange for one of those rental companies to drop them off and pick them up for you. I generally rent a skiff (a little motor boat) from the rental place at the Town Pier in Wellfleet – it’s not a guided tour but those little boats are very easy to drive and once you get out to Jeremy’s Point there is a nice little landing for swimming and shell seeking.
