Breakfast in Greenwich Village?

Hi

Me and my husband are planning to spend a day in Greenwich Village and wondered if there is anywhere good for breakfast?

We're after somewhere that does bacon and eggs - that kind of thing - relaxed atmosphere

Thanks.

I can recommend a couple of places in the East Village:

Little Poland - 2nd Avenue between 13th/14th Street.

Veselka - 2nd Avenue @ 9th Street.

Not fancy but good - real neighborhood places.

West Village:

Hudson Diner - Hudson @ Barrow Street

Hi,

you had said Greenwich Village. This is really the west side.

The suggestions made of Veleska and little Poland are on the east side. Both good choice if you are going to start off over there.

In the West Village some good breakfast choices are,

The Village Den. this is a nicer diner on Greenwich Ave. between 7th and 8th aves. around 11th street.

The Bus Stop Cafe, 597 Hudson at Bethune,

Florent, 69 Gansevoort St. between Greenwhich St(not ave, Village den is on Greenwhich Ave.) and Washington. This is really the Meat Packing district, right next to the West Village and a few minutes walk from village Den and Bus Stop.

If you find yourself in Tribeca, try

Bubbys, North Moore and Hudson, This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. packed on the weekends you are better off going on a weekday. Or early on a weekend. this is about 10 minutes from the trade center site.

I had breakfast at Greenwich Village Bistro one very very cold and wet morning. It's on Carmine Street. There was no particular reason why we chose it other than it was really close to where we were staying and as I mentioned, it was a very wet that day!

I had the huevos rancheros, my boyfriend had steak and eggs. The owner was really friendly. They had this delicious guava juice of which my boyfriend ordered about 4 glasses!

The mugs are also huge, if you're someone who likes their coffee.
