steakhouse - don't remember the name

i remember a memorable dinner at a very well known steakhouse around the 10th, 9th or 8th Ave ...The meat was exposed in a cool window before you enter the restaurant. Expensive and class, i think there were actors or personnalities pictures on the wall. Does anyone know it if it's still existing. Thyu

Sounds like you mean Gallaghers which was great once upon a time but not any more.

Lots of better steahouses.

9th Ave and 14th street is the < Old Homestead > Steakhouse. It was renovated a few years back (losing all its charm).

If you go to Luger's be sure to take plenty of cash, as they do not accept credit cards.
