I don't exactly know if this is what you are looking for, but FAO Schwartz toy shop do a large selection of dolls and collectable and special edition ones. They also sell a big selection of teddy bears including Steiff bears, which I know people collect. Hope this helps.

The Madame Alexander factory in Harlem sells dolls

Check that info is still correct.

FAO Schwarz sells the dolls too and also has bears. The collectible ones are quite expensive. Bergdorf Goodman (fancy dept. store) children's dept. also has some wonderful bears and other stuffed animals.

The Madame Alexander offices in Harlem, on occassion, sell 'close-out' type of dolls.

For the best selection of MA dolls in Manhattan, check out Mary Arnold Toys on Lexington Ave, between 72 - 73 street.
