Subway from Rockefeller to the Brooklyn bridge?

Hi,

What subway do we take to get to the Brooklyn side of the bridge?

Thanks,

From Rockefeller Center station you'll simply hop on any downtown train to West 4th Street (note that if the express comes at the same time as the local, jump on the express, it'll save you a couple minutes). West 4th Street is three stops on the express, five stops on the Local. It'll take eight to ten minutes.

At West 4th Street, go upstairs and take the A or C train to High Street.

You'll want to be toward the back of the train for the correct exit at High Street.

Note that at W. 4th Street the A is on the express track, the C on the local track. Both trains arrive at High Street on the same track. The C makes one additional stop. Four stops on the A or five stops on the C train.

Sound good?

You can also avoid changing trains by taking the F train from Rockefeller Center to York Street Station.

Another option is to take the #1 from 50th and Broadway (near Seventh) to Times Square, and then change on the same platform for the 2 or 3 to Clark Street.

Full details for how to get to the walkway from various stations are found here:

Everything is very clearly marked.

Something to strongly consider, and not in any guidebook...

There is a new park at the foot of Fulton Street in Brooklyn. It is exceptionally nice. It is to the left as you walk down Old Fulton Street to the water. They have a concession that sells beer and wine. They have some decent stuff and there is seating along the waterfront, it is really very nice. People from Manhattan venture across the river for a glass of wine and to watch the boats, yachts, Circle Line, water taxi's etc. and soak in the skyline. Magnificent, worth spending some time there, then an easy walk up to the bridge.

Is there website that shows how to get from point a to point b for various locations. I am leaving in a month and have not begun to study the subway layout.

hopstop.com

You really should, though, familiarize yourself with the subway map, which is on line at the MTA website.
