Aloha coming to NYC!!!

Aloha,

I will be coming to NYC for one week, I am going to do the circle line tour for sure but last time I was there the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island were closed. so I might like to do both of them. Is it worth it to go to both? How long will it take to do both or should I just do the circle line. I think it sounds so fasinating to see Ellis island and hear the stories. Anyone here that feels like expressing opinions I would appriciate. Also what do you think is a must see show maybe two I was thinking of Mary poppins !! I am staying half the time in midtown at the Eastside marriott and half at the battery park ritz!! Cant wait!!

If you only have time to do Statue, take the Free Staten Island Ferry...you get a good view.

Otherwise I would not spend the time there. Ellis Island is way too fascinating.....tours...exhibits.

Are you going to but theater tix in advance.....Otherwise you could take your chance and go to the TKTS booth -. They also have one at the South Street Seaport area. There is a "last week" listing on the website (see below) and Mary Poppins was available. That doesnt mean it will be when you get here. I would go with a list of 3-5 shows you want to see.

They take cash and credit cards.

I've always been somewhat disappointed after visiting the Statue of Liberty. Lots of steps in cramped condition, and they no longer let you into the crown. Even when they did, the view through the tiny windows was less than optimal. Just as good seeing it from the Staten Island Ferry.

But...Ellis Island is wonderful and really a must see in NYC. It's Immigration Museum is soooo well done and thoughtful. It's a wonderful experience.

Mary Poppins? Go see Avenue Q. Just my two cents.
