Favorite can't miss sites

This is my first time in the city. We will be there next weekend and have some must see's. We plan on doing the Natural History Museum, Central Park, Times Square, Top of the Rock, WTC site, and we want to eat at Lombardi's. Anyone else have some can't miss things to do?

Staten Island Ferry especially on a hot summer night.

It is free and has spectacular views on the way back.

I never thought of the Staten Island Ferry. That's a real good idea, thanks!

You might want to wander through Rockefeller Center (and see where the Today Show studio is). Also, Grand Central Station is amazing, especially the whispering chamber - my guests always get a real kick out of that!!

IMO, other "must have" foods:

Deli food---A good pastrami or corned beef sandwich---our favorite is The Second Avenue Deli

Bagels---Our favorite is Ess-a-Bagel

My son and daughter visited my wife and I on our last visit to NYC. The first thing we did was take the subway to Brooklyn and walk back across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan. Great introduction to NYC.

The Brooklyn Bridge is just over a mile long. It took us about an hour, with a lot of stops for pics :)

One of my "can't miss" things (besides the wonderful things already mentioned by others) is spending time relaxing in Battery Park, admiring the Statue of Liberty in the distance :)
