Ragtime returns to Broadway

For those of you who may have missed it the first go-around, Ragtime, the musical, is coming back....

From Variety.com:

"Based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow, "Ragtime" has a book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens.

Set in New York City in the early 1900s, plots follow a rich Victorian couple, a Harlem jazz musician and a family of Jewish immigrants as their lives intersect with famous figures of the era.

Show begins previews Oct. 23 ahead of a Nov. 15 [2009] opening."

Any words on the casting yet--- last time Audra McDonald was sensational-- I saw it first in Toronto and then in New York... visitors should try to put this one on their list.

Casting hasn't yet been announced for "Ragtime."

The Donmar Warehouse production of "Hamlet," starring Jude Law, is coming in September. It received mixed reviews, but will sell well because of its star.
