Are you daft? A passport is to gain entry to a foreign country - you have already done that - no tourist venues require you present your passport.

Where did you get this misinformation - have you check the SOL website for visitor information?

You can use your passport as an ID document.

You won't need your passport specifically, but you should carry photo ID (such as driver's license).

Have been people been asked for ANY identification to board the boat to the SOL? I wasn't asked for any i.d.

A bit harsh Poppa.

You don't need identification to board the boat but you certainly need identification to collect tickets from Castle Clinton and that can be a passport or driver's licence.

thanks Helen! We just bought tickets and waited for the boat (rather than pre-ordering and picking them up). this might be why we weren't asked for i.d. Or maybe we were and I've just forgotten.

Are you kidding me no way do you have to have a passport to see the Statue Of Liberty or any other tourist hotspots as you call them.

Is it easier/quicker to order tickets off their website and pick them up or get them on the day?

Also the website has a flexi ticket which works for 3 days, so for example if i bought it for 4th september would it work on the 5th and 6th or the days before?

think the person who told you this may have been confused...you might need your passport to collect your tickets if you have paid for them on will call but not for any other reason...
