My husband & I are coming to NYC for 5 days in July. We want to experience the city not so much thought Museums & shopping but more by walking through the neighborhoods, taking the subway & eating all sorts of fabulous food. We have in mind the kind of food that would make us crave it in the future so bad that we would come back to NYC just for it, LOL.
Anything that would be different & better than what we could get in Seattle. That probably doesn't help you much if you're not familiar with Seattle, LOL. No chain restaurants unless it's very unique to NYC.
Italian, fast food, chinese, steak, whatever "you" crave.
It doesn't have to be expensive or cheap. It doesn't have to be healthy or not. Just really good. I'll give you an example. Most Thai restaurants make red curry. Most of them are good but not memorable. A few here in Seattle are so good that you can still taste & enjoy it in your mind even a week after you ate it. Same with Penne alla vodka from our favorite restaurant in Seattle.
Also since we won't have a car, it should be fairly easy access either by public transit or walking. Keep in mind we don't mind places outside of Manhattan. We're not afraid of taking the subway & buses to get to a place to have a memorable meal even if that place is just a street cart. If it serves fabulous food, that's were we want to be.
So what food have you had in NYC that was so good that you crave it once in a while or all the time LOL?
