How much should we expect to pay to get from Newark to Union Square by cab? By train?

Have you read the first FAQ that deals with getting to and from the airports?

Cabs from Newark are very expensive and there are always a number of complaints about them (they're not NYC cabs - they're local Newark or Elizabeth cabs).

You can prearrange a sedan through Dial 7 or All State.

I always take the train. The train is $15.00 per person and it is fantastic. Fast, frequent, efficient, comfortable, reliable, avoids all the tunnel traffic coming in through the Holland or Lincoln Tunnels in a taxi, it's great.

AirTrain Newark / NJ Transit is very modern. There are escalators and elevators - it isn't quite like navigating some of the older parts of the subway system - this was built recently and built for int'l visitors with luggage and a lack of knowledge of local transport in mind. It is very clearly marked and user-friendly. This is how I go - even with lots of luggage for int'l trips.
