which is best for Sunday afternoons in NYC?

My son and I will be in NYC for the first JETS game at the new stadium. We want to see as much as possible in our short trip. Want to see ground zero and visit SoHo and meat packing district. (have never been to that part of the city). Which is best for a Sunday afternoon and what areas of the meat packing district are must sees? restaurants, cool shopping, people watching, etc.? Will arrive in the city Sunday around noon and have that afternoon, evening and Monday morning till just after lunch before we head to the Meadowlands. Would love to be involved in a protest against the mosque. Anything planned?

I'm very disturbed by the replies to the OP. Those of you who have responded obviously do not share his/her political or ideological views. That's fine. But by denying his/her right to hold these views you are exhibiiting the same intolerance of which you are accusing him/her. After all, the OP is not proposing something illegal--like apartment rentals. I thought that the purpose of this forum was to help visitors, not make them feel unwelcome.
