"Quirky' things to do in NYC?

We are heading out soon for our overnight trip to the city. We love to find the 'quirky' side of places. We've done the 'sound-travel-thingie' outside the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station and seen a 'piece of the Berlin Wall'.....

Any ideas to see the more unusual side to the city?

I'd go visit the birdwatchers in the Park at 72ndt St and Fifth and find out the latest about Pale Male and his 6th? wife Lima. I'm never going to be able to keep up with the story on my blog.

Not sure if your definition of quirky is the same as ours, but I asked the following question before our trip and some of the answers were pretty awesome:

If it's just an overnight, what's the time period you have?

You could check out Pomander Walk or Sniffen Court or one of the other places mentioned here

NYC Transit Museum (in downtown Brooklyn!)

It is housed in a 1936 transit station (no longere used) and you can get old memorabilia (like jewelry made from old subway tokens/pre-Metrocard)

I haven't done this yet, but plan to on our trip in May - a foot reflexology session in Chinatown. From what I read, it's not fancy and spa-like, but kind of a hole-in-the-wall type place and very inexpensive. Yan Mei Foot Reflexology on Mott St. advertises 15 minutes for $1 up to an hour for $30. It sounds kind of quirky to me. Can't wait.
