4th of July night - Something to see/do on Staten Island?

Is there some 4th of July eveningtime celebrations on Staten Island or should we take a X-bus to Manhattan? Any suggestions what to do?. Are the dept stores open all evening on July 4th? We are a family w/ teenagers.

Finally a Staten Island question - Yes!!!!

Celebrations possibly at Wolfes Pond Park. Double check closer to the date.

The SI mall if thats what you mean will be open 10:00am-9:00pm

If you are looking for something else to do: SI zoo and the Botanican gardens at snug harbor are very nice.

The Staten Island Yankees are playing their big rival, the Brooklyn Cyclones, that night in the baby Yankees' ball park next to the ferry terminal in St. George, Staten Island.

The game will begin at 7 PM, followed by fireworks right there. Plus, it's likely you'll also be able to see (albeit at a distance) at least some of Macy's big fireworks extravaganza launched from the Hudson River alongside midtown Manhattan from your seat in the stadium.

Which will be more comfortable than my usual July 4 perch on the steps of the courthouse building across the street from the Ferry terminal ;-)

A boat called the Atlantic Princess will probably be going from SI

right to the fireworks.

I do not know the cost
