Please help - Can I board the Air Train at the Howard Beach station to go directly to the LIRR at Jamaica Station?

Thanks!

You can't go "directly." You will need to take an Airtrain from Howard beach towards the terminals and then transfer to a Jamaica-bound train. Might also be $5 for each way.

Yes, you'd pay $5 at the Howard Beach turnstile and $5 at the Jamaica turnstile for a total of $10.

The answers above are correct. So, where are you actually starting from and going to? There's likely a better way.

Good question, BBrdge. Here's the LIRR map:

If you're in Brooklyn, you can catch the LIRR to Jamaica. If you're on the Far Rockaway branch, you can also get to the Jamaica station.

Appropos of nothing, I once had to go to a funeral in Canarsie, Brooklyn and really didn't want to take a potentially 2 hour subway ride to get home to Queens. One of the friends was heading directly back to JFK, so I went with him in his car service and took AirTrain to the E subway train to get home.
