Which hotel for a girls trip? Rooftop bar preferred!

Hi I am trying to help a friend find a hotel to stay at. She will be visiting from Austraila for 5 nights to NYC. SHe is bringing a friend with her. They want to see a show, visit central park and get a carriage ride, see the sights, a game etc. She was looking at The Hilton NYC Fashion District but they are sold out for the dates she is coming. She is looking at a stay in July. Any other good suggestions?

Not without exact dates, the numer of beds and rooms needed, and a budget per night in US dollars. So.....?

Check in Sat July 14 out on Thursday July 19. One room with 2 people (separate beds). Then there are 2 of us that would like to join them for one night before we have to head back to our families. So another room with 2 people (separate beds), but just one night arriving on the 14th also.

Id like to keep it under 300.00 a night in total per room

Thanks:)

We're staying at the Affinia Shelburne in June, which has a rooftop bar , and when we booked (about 5 months ago admittedly) we had a price of $199 plus tax - it's a bit more now but may be within your budget

How old are the "girls" who are going to the rooftop bar?

If these "girls" are over 21 the Affinia Shelburne is a great choice. Views of the ESB and the Chrysler Building are fab from the roof top. The bar on the ground floor was buzzing too.

The Hotel Gansevoort has a lively rooftop bar that I have enjoyed.

While I was sleeping my friends in Aus were awake and working on this and apparently found an opening at the Hilton Fashion District. Is that a good place? We are mid 30's -40.

Yes, it's one of the few hotels with rooms with 2 beds and a rooftop bar that will be within your budget on those dates. I started checking last night and found very little. Rooms with 2 beds are more expensive and many of the trendy hotels with rooftop bars don't have them at all.

The Indigo is near the Hilton Fashion District, also has a rooftop bar and has rooms with 2 doubles for ~ $285/night plus tax but it looks like the Hilton Fashion will be much less at ~ $235/night if you prepay. Here's a link to a list of hotels with rooftop bars and there are lots of photos and reviews.
