Yes, I feel sorry for her, too. She was an innocent victim in this.

Yet---the woman who found the Craigslist ad lived most of her life in Hoboken, so one would think that she should have some idea about the rental market in NYC. How could she not know that $100/night for a two bedroom apartment in Soho screams "scam"?

The women whose bank account was used was definitely the main victim in this. The moral of the story is that everyone must monitor their finances carefully. While the internet has made scams easier---it has also made monitoring easier.
