2nd trip to NYC, Itinerary suggestions??

It will be our 2nd time visiting NYC and this time it will be for our honeymoon!

We have some stuff we didn't get to see last time and would be open to some more romantic ideas/suggestions.

Tuesday July 31

Arrive at Laguardia at 12:10

Go to hotel and get settled. I already called for early check-in.

(Millenium Broadway Hotel)

David letterman store, and go to steak and shake for lunch.

Visit what was the Monk Cafe on the show Seinfield 2880 broadway corner 112th street.

Carriage ride in Central Park (not sure where to be for this?)

Stop for a drink at the boathouse in central park. (Do I need a reservation?)

Go to Andre's bakery (1631 2nd avenue between 84th and 85th)

back to the hotel for happy hour special and get changed for dinner

Dinner at hill country BBQ

Hotel bar for drinks

Wednesday

breakfast at hotel

11AM-2pm Foods of NY food tour (bleeker and cornelia street)

Would like to see the Statue of Liberty afterwards. I know there is a ferry that takes you to see it but doesn't stop at Ellis Island. Which is that? Do i have to reserve in advance?

Would like to see WTC Memorial. Should I reserve in advance? Where?

Go back to the hotel for happy hour special and to get changed for dinner.

Dinner at Crispo at 8pm

New York Beer Company for drinks

Thursday

Grand central station

Madison Square Garden

Shopping

4pm reservation at Max Brenner

6:50 Laguardia for flight home

Please help! Suggestions and advice are very welcome!

the carriage rides in central park are usually not recommended here, they are expensive and you can see more of the park by walking/exporling yourselves

there is no ferry that just stops at liberty island alone, the only ferry that goes to the island itself is the one that also stops at Ellis Island as well. you wouldn't have to get off at Ellis Island though(although Ellis island is amazing). Be aware the statue is closed itself at the moment so although you can get off and wonder on liberty island you can't go inside the statue itself. you can reserve a time here: http://www.statuecruises.com/

you do need to reserve the time for 9/11 memorial, you can do that here: http://www.911memorial.org/

Strongly suggest you look at a map for your first day. It is all over the map and on your last day which is more important.'- max brenners or boarding your plane?

Sounds like a fun trip. About MSG though, there are no tours on at the moment because of the renovations, so all you'll really see is the (pretty unspecial) exterior of an arena. Personally, with limited time like yours, I wouldn't make a special trip there just for that.

You are never going to make a 6:50 p.m. flight with a 4:00 p.m. reservation at Max Brenner. (Unless you mean your flight is later and you are just planning to arrive at LGA at that time?)

Do not do the carriage ride. There are some animal cruelty issues with the horses.

Our flight is only at 8:50. So we'll have plenty of time to et to the airport.

Can we just walk down to the pier and see the statue of liberty?

Any romantic suggestions?

Is there a special reason to go out of your way to Andre's? I don't find it particularly good, so was wondering. Regarding the Boathouse, the bar and deck area get more crowded later in the afternoon. I recommend you make lunch reservations at the Boathouse instead. It's very pretty and the food is very good. Excellent cocktails too.

Actually, I think the Loeb Boathouse does not take reservations unless you have a party of 5 or over. If you called them, though, and told them that it was your Honeymoon, and asked if there were something that they could possibly do for you, they might help.

I think you would benefit from mapping out your plans. Tom's is on the Upper West Side, and the Loeb Boathouse is on the Eastern side of Central Park (about a quarter of a mile from the entrance on 72nd and Fifth Avenue). Unless you have a lot of money for cabs, of course, which you might.

You must have a reservation for the SOL ferry. If you're determined to do it, try to book an early boat and get there as early as possible. The lines are probably some of the worst you've ever encountered in your life!

That being said, you can take the Staten Island Ferry for free and see Lady Liberty from there; arrive on Staten Island and just get back on the ferry again for the return trip.

Hotel bars? I would suggest small cozy yet cool bars in Lower East Side, East Village, or ABC towns...

"I think you would benefit from mapping out your plans."

I think throw away all your plans, it is your honeymoon and you already been here.

Just get up each morning a let fate decide what to do for that day and let your heart fill in the hours.

Do not do the boring New York City tourist trip plans that been done millions times over by tourist the world over. Set the trend, be different and it good way to start your future years of marrage.

Any bar suggestions near the millennium broadway hotel? I'll scrap the boathouse idea for now. We can easily go for lunch on our way to Tom's diner. I'm not seeing any romantic suggestions still...

Thank you for the staten island ferry advice!
