EWR Limo - Do you have to prebook

Do I need to pre arrange a car service for EWR to Mahattan?.

We are arriving on Sept 11th at Noon and we'll be three people with 3 large suitcases. I've taken the airtrain into Penn but we've got large suitcases and I think that will be too much.

Should I pre book a car or can we just grab a town car outside of the terminal when we arrive?

Hey brewster69:-) You can book a car with one of the popular car services like Carmel or Dial7.. when you clear formalities and luggage in hand, you just give them a buzz and they'll advise where to meet you.. they usually don't take more than about 5-10 min after you contact them! Best.. and Enjoy!

Best to book with Dial7 or Carmel prior to arriving at the airport. If your plans change you can cancel on-line. I always pay by cash, that way you don't have to leave any credit card information on-line.

I don't understand the love for Dial 7 on this board.

Read these reviews:

Then read these reviews:

And tell me who you'd rather use.

Well I've never had an issue with dial 7 and are happy to recommend.

Other people recommend Carmel or all state on this forum.

I've used both Carmel and Dial7. I've never had an issue with either.

Don't, under any circumstances, cheap out and take the SuperShuttle. You'll be sorry. They pack you in like sardines, 11 people to a van. If you are on the bottom end of the drop off list be prepared to kill a hour or two.

I did it once and will never do it again.

"I don't understand the love for Dial 7 on this board. "

I think most people don't bother to write reviews when things go right. Kind of like writing a review of a taxi ride or something, yes?

"The driver picked us up and started the meter. We told him where we were going and he nodded. Then he dropped us off and we paid him $9". Why would I review that?

Same with Dial 7. I've used them maybe only 4-5 times over the years, but they were all unremarkable experiences. They picked me up, they got me where I was going, they dropped me off, they charged what they were supposed to charge.
