Arriving to NYC at 6am

Hi,

Will be in NYC for 5 days,we arrive at 6 am on Thursday morning,we will be staying at the Best Western JKF on our first night and then moving to Newark at the DoubleTree for the remainder of our stay as we have family in Newark.

We plan to take the hotel shuttle to hotel, drop our bags as I highly doubt the hotel will let us check in early.

Wanted to spend the day lounging in NewYork,do some shopping, eating.

Wanted to an area where there is local food and some shopping for my wife, shops like Century 21,Macys etc,.

If i want to take the subway to this area, how do i do this?

I can take a shuttle back to JFK and depart from there if have to,prefer not to take the taxi as our 15 month son will be with us and without a carseat we do not want to take a risk.

Please advise.

You might cobsuder reserving a guaranteed room the night before you land. See if they'll give you a late checkout. You could grab few hours sleep then head over to Newark

This is the same person who wanted to stay near the "clinic" in Great Neck last week. I guess plans changed.

We are staying close to JFk because I have a medical appointment in Great Neck on Friday,so instead of staying in Newark on Thursday and travelling all the way back to Great Neck,it was easier staying in New York then Newark,we will check out and keep our bags at the hotel,go to Great Neck in the morning and then pick upo our bags at the hotel in the evening and make our way to Newark.

We are flying out of Newark on our way home, everything was booked strategically.

I am staying at the Best Western because,i do not need to be in Great Neck till 3pm,so the plan was to get up early and check out some sights by getting into the city, and from there i was planning on leaving on my own to get to Great Neck.

Are you asking how to get in to the city from the Best Western? You have to take the shuttle back to JFK and follow the directions for how to use public transportation from the airport to Manhattan.

I agree that your hotels are not the best choices but you will only see that when you get here. Live and learn

How do you plan on "making your way" from the JFK hotel to the Newark hotel? If it's a car service or taxi, why NOT bring your child's car seat (airlines do not charge for kid paraphenalia) so you can transport your child in safety?

Will your family in Newark transport you to the PATH or whatever to get into Manhattan every day for sightseeing? If so, even better reason to put your child's carseat into their vehicle.
