What difference does it make what the weather has been the last few weeks if you are going next week?

check forecasts at www.weather.com and/or www.ny1.com

They are as accurate as any weather forecast can be. What we had the past few weeks doesn't matter.

Pack everything. :)

The weather is so changeable that what it has been like the past several weeks isn't a good predictor of what's to come. I assume you're travelling soon? My rule for packing to go anywhere in the Northeast is to wait until the last minute and check the forecast. The forecast even a week out is almost certainly going to change.

If you're coming soon, you would plan for warm days and hopefully cooler nights. Possibly some rain. That doesn't sound very helpful, but you just never know. We could get one more heat wave, we might not.

some people have no lives and feel like they need to insult and belittle people to justify there own existence.

I'm landing in nyc on thurs evening and have been reguarly checking the weather forecasts and you will get different updates on different sites so im just going to take it day by day and catch the weather forecast every morning for that day on the tv.

Have a nice holiday

It is very difficult to say but Labor Day weekend is usually very nice, but that doesn't mean it will be as it could get chilly and rain. September is usually a beautiful time of year in NYC with mostly warm days and cooler nights but as the others have said anything can happen. So keep checking the forecast and be sure to bring an umbrella, sweater or jacket and shorts too.

Have a great time in our wonderful city.

Saddler1, does it make *you* feel better to "belittle" and to sneer at those people who sensibly point out that it is completely useless to look at what the weather was in July and August if you want to know how warm it will be in September?

Affiniakate, it isn't "rude" to point out that a silly question is, in fact, silly. Looking at what the temperature was three weeks ago will tell you absolutely nothing about what to expect tomorrow, and will serve no purpose except to waste everyone's time. Weather in NYC can change radically from week to week, and asking what the weather was at the end of July is as pointless for predictions for September as asking what the weather was like in February of 1978. If you want to have an idea of what the weather will be like, the thing to do is not to ask pointless questions about a few weeks ago, but to look at what meteorologists believe is likely in the near future. Therefore, the intelligent thing to do is to look at sites that predict coming weather. For example, you should try looking at Accuweather.com, or weather.com.

My advice is to check the wather at weather.com , try the 10 day forecast the night before you are leaving (when you are packing).

If you want to have a better sense try a webcam to see how people is dressing and I think that's the best you can prepare.

Hope you have a good time and nice weather.

Cheers
