dilemma

Hi all, going to ny in august for the second time. we want to do a week there, but was thinking of going over for around eleven or twelve days. and going up to cape cod on the train for the remainder of the holiday. good idea?

how long does it take to get to cape cod on the train? and while we are in cape cod, would you recommend a car for getting about?

You can't go to Cape Cod by train. Rail service ended in 1996. The best you can do is go to Providence, Rhode Island, and take a bus.

Or get yourself to Boston and take the ferry over to Provincetown at the very tip of Cape Cod. Provincetown is charming. You'll definitely need to rent a car.

Getting around on Cape Cod is impossible without a car. You can go to Martha's Vineyard by ferry from Manhattan.
