Is the shortage of gas problem has been solved?

Hi! We are traveling to New York City this Thurs to Sat and we will pick up the rental car to go to Woodbury Common and drive to Manhattan. We wondering whether the gasoline shortage has been solved? Pls advice.

If you're driving through NJ, then you should be OK (rationing ends Tuesday), however, if you're looking for a gas station in NYC, then Gas Rationing is still going on.

In Queens, nope. There are stil long lines waiting for gas and many gas stations are closed because they do not have any gas to sell.

The gas rationing is in effect in NYC and Long Island and will remain in effect. There is no gas shortage up in Westchester, Rockland and in Orange where Woodbury Common is located. You go through Westchester / Rockland or through New Jersey to get to / from Woodbury Common. No problems there - only the five boroughs of NYC and Long Island.

Thanks for M4RKM, Bill and MoreFFmiles reply!!

How about the driving condition? Is the driving bad from Woodbury to Manhaton? And approx how long is the drive?

I will pick up the car at Newark at around 8am, then go to Woodbury, stay a night there and then drive to Manhaton in Day 2 morning, leaving in day 3 night at LaGradia. Would that be very hard of all these driving? Any expert can provide tips and suggestion?

Many thanks!

The drive is easy from Woodbury to Manhattan it's straight down major highways (Thruway to Palisades)

the driving is easy you may sit in traffic that you arent used to

unless you;re one of those that line up to get on the Gardiner or QEW
