Well I am happy to report that we had a great time on New Years Eve at Carmines last night!! We were worried if we would have to take a detour to get there since our hotel was the Doubletree Times Square at 47th and 7th. The NYPD were so nice in letting us go down Broadway and stop for photo's, Once we got there it was very well organized with the VIP line and we were able to enter at 8pm as promised. Once inside we were escored to our table which we shared with a lovely couple from Brazil. The dinner was served buffet style and there were so many choices of delicious main meals, saladand breads. After dinner they brought out a dessert buffet that was great as well. The staff did a great job and we never waited for a drink. The DJ encouraged people to get up and dance. What I like most was in felt like I was amongst family or at a wedding reception. Lots of family tables with kids, a great atmosphere. At 11:45 we went outside and although Carmines is around the corner from the ball drop we got to hear the countdown and see all the confetti. It was quite surreal and I loved it!! We then went back inside till 1am then walked back to the hotel. We had to walk up to 8th then back down 46th. At that point the police officer escorted us to the Doubletree. What a great night it was a big thank you to the staff of the Doubletree Times Square, Carmines and the NYPD for making it a night to remember!!
