Roseland Ballroom fllor plan....Flogging Molly

Help! Im bringing my 16 year old daughter and friend to the Flogging Molly concert at Roseland...never been there. Is it standing room only or is there seating? There seem to be only two choices ticket-wise: Floor or Mezzanine. Am I better off with the mezzanine so we"re not crushed and we can actually see the stage? I can't stand trying to decipher this stuff when I havent been to a place...

I have been to a lot of shows at Roseland, and they have all been standing [or moshing at times]. It is a nice venue to see a show. If you want some peace and relative quiet, there is a bar toward the side of the stage area that is generally more subdued than the floor.

BTW - Flogging Molly is a wonderful band. Enjoy the show.

It's an open space. They put chairs out for some events, but I wouldn't expect chairs for Flogging Molly. You can see photos on their site:

Upstairs is for 21+

Have been to FM twice here. Going again to this show. First time took 14 yr old son.

On the floor in the front is a little intense. But to see the band it is the best place. Unless you are very tall and can see over. You can always start at the front and move back if it is too intense.

We usually get to the venue early so we can be on the rail to the right. In front of Dennis Casey. It is not as rough on this side as on Nathan Maxwells side.

You absolutely do not want to be in the middle of the stage at the front. Scary.

The bouncers are well trained and very helpful. They can be a bit abrasive and seem unfriendly but they aren't. Just trying to keep everybody safe. They do not hesitate to yank real idiots and remove them.

Be prepared for crowd surfers as well. If all the bouncers are suddenly in front of you there is probably someone coming over your head so just be aware.

Everyone has to go thru a metal detector and bag search so best not to bring a bag. They split the lines into men and women and of course the women's line always drags. If you do not have a bag they usually wave you though faster.

Hope this helps. If you go in with the attitude that it will be a crazy night you have a very fun time.

I agree about reply from jkmw67- I really do need details like that; it helps me alot. I like to have a plan when Im escorting kids, ya know? Thank you to everyone that responds...anybody know about the VIP area? Ticket prices are double and I was wondering if it was worth it ...And jkm, thanks for suggesting that I have the right attitude going in.

Brought my dau and friend to the Vans tour last year and if I hadnt just "let go", the twelve hours there woulda killed me :-)
