Newark Airport hotel - suggestions please

Hi

Wondered if anyone could recommend an airport hotel at Newark airport for me. We are flying in on an overnight flight flight from Hawaii (landing around midday) then will be getting a flight back to the UK around 10pm that day. We want somewhere to crash for a few hours, have a shower, get a meal & has a shuttle bus to get us back to the airport. Looking for somewhere not expensive as it will only be for a matter of hours.

Many thanks

Jane

Confirm in advance that they'll check you in as soon as you arrive.

It sounds like you want a day rate/few hours rather than an overnight?

I'd look into a one-day pass to one of the airport lounges...I'm not sure which ones have showers, or what the prices are, but in the long run it might be cheaper than a hotel (which will probably charge you the overnight rate, AND, as has been pointed out, might not have your room ready until 3 pm or so).

The lounges will have food, drinks, comfy chairs, tvs, internet stations.

If you're looking for somewhere reasonable and not too far from the airport.. We often stay at the Hampton Inn in Passaic. They offer free shuttle service from the hotel, have a decent breakfast in the mornings and the rooms are comfotable.. Prices are not bad either. I spent a lot of time between NJ and Toronto, ON Canada during my grandfather's illness and subsequent death and we always stayed at the Hampton Inn.. I think it's called the Riverwalk.

If you have a corporate account, the deals are even better. Happy booking!
