Good ski resorts near NYC (2-3 hours driving)

Hi,

I am looking for a good ski resort 2 to 3 hours driving distance from NYC.

I am planning to stay 2-3 nights(probably Feb 8-10 or the week after that) with 2 friends.

Any recommendations?

There are no good ski resorts within a 2 to 3 hours drive of New York City. Good ski resorts require substantial mountains and lots of snow, and you won't find either within 150 miles of New York City. The best you might hope to find is a mediocre to third-rate skiing area with artificial snow (and not much of that, considering how warm it has been recently), but that is not a "good ski resort". For a good ski resort, you need to go much more than 2 or 3 hours north, to the Adirondacks or Vermont.

What GWB said. However if you insist, Blue Mountain, PA is 2 hours away from NYC

Butternut is nice, and it's 3 hours on a good day. It's geared towards families, but it's a perfectly nice place to ski.

Some other suggestions are: Hunter Mountain, Windham Mountain, and Jiminy Peak. (Jiminy might be more than 3 hours?)
