Last day haven't yet tried a "real" NY bagel

Here's the plan finally go to TOR. Then down 5th ave to Central Park go to Natural History Museum. Any bagel shops along the way? Starting in Time square.

Thanks for all the help this week.

lots of delis will have bagels but i know many people that won't think they're real ny bagels. i was going to suggest barney greengrass but i think they are closed for holy week. i think bagels aren't supposed to be toasted, like how a good baguette shouldn't have to be toasted either. maybe carnegie deli will be open? 7th/55th. tal bagels (90th/bway) is a bit off your path.

The Natural History Museum is on the west side of the park. Walking up 5th Avenue won't get you there. You can either cut across the park at some point or just walk up Central Park West. After you leave TOTR just walk west to Broadway and take that up to Columbus Circle. That's the starting point for Central Park West, which is really an extension of 8th Avenue.

Hi we wanted to see some of the folks out for Easter on 5th ave but know we need to then go a different way to the history museum. Thanks!

Just FYI, if you refer to the Museum of Natural History as the "history museum" most locals won't know what you're talking about -- or they might direct you toward the New-York Historical Society Museum, which is actually nearby.

Hey Chitownbigcityfan:-) Well, not along the way.. but if you head a but further North on the UWS, you'll find the best bagels around at Absolute Bagels on Broaday between 107-108th Streets;-) If you walk West (away from Central Park) from the Museum over to Amsterdam Avenue, you can hop on the M7 bus.. or take the M104 at Broadway.. the bus ride will take about 10 min to 108th Street;-) EnJOY!

Thanks again. Didn't get the bagel. Maybe next trip but seeing the folks for Easter was a hoot.
