TV Audience tickets

Hello, I will be in New York and was wondering if anyone had success in getting TV audience tickets? As I only have about a week in New York, I wanted to know which shows are easier to get tickets to? Thanks!

You have to look at each web site to find out about tickets. There is no central location. David Letterman and SNL are almost impossible to get without advance planning. John Stewart is not too hard, you just make a reservation on the Internet.

And you don't just walk in; you get on line 1.5 or 2 hours before it starts, and hope you aren't the last one on the line; the last few don't get in because they always overbook.

Jimmy Fallon does a rehearsal of his monologue at around 3:30 PM; you get tickets to it between 12 Noon and 1 PM at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

If you are ever in Los Angeles, TV tickets are given out at a number of central locations, and there are many, many more shows to choose from.

Daily Show and Colbert Report are straight-forward (as said above you reserve them online) but the problem is that they only release tickets in batches at random times (more closer to the show itself) so you need to keep checking their websites and hope you get lucky:

For Jimmy Fallon's monologue rehearsal, 12-1 is too late. If you're going anywhere near a school break, on a Friday, or around a major holiday, you'll need to get them by 10am.
