B&B or Hostel for 1 night.

Last minute 1-night trip, need nothing fancy. Prices for even 1-star hotels are exorbitant. Are there any -safe- B&Bs or hostels near Times Sq at a reasonable price? Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

No. B & B's here tend to be no less expensive than a hotel. There are very few hostels in NYC that are legal and none near Times Square. The only reason to stay near TS is if you're going to the theater. What's the date you need and how much do you want to spend? How many are you and what are you coming to do?

We plan to arrive tomorrow, and would like to stay -preferably- near Times Sq (although we won't mind taking the subway there if we have to). We are 2 people, and our budget is $100.

The YMCA Vanderbilt has a bunkbed room for 2 for $124 plus tax and is a short subway ride to Times Square. The YMCA Westside is also not far and has the same for $132. I looked on kayak.com which will lead you to other websites (or you can check on the YMCA website).

Assuming you're over 21 and have a credit card, you could also try bidding on Priceline for a room. I wouldn't bid lower than a 3*. The

whatever you do .... stay fairly close to Manhattan ... Queens and Brooklyn are good, but only if you're CLOSE to a subway. When do you plan on coming?
