To and from where? That Dial7 quote will be before tolls of $15-20 and tip of 20%. There are cheaper public transportation options, but those will depend on whether you can carry your luggage and where you're going.

Hey Cheryl D:-) You're good to go with www.dial7.com/ Just take note that depending on time of day, you can hit some pretty rough rush hour traffic! You can also check with www.njtransit.com/ You can take the airtrain from your terminal to the Newark Liberty train stop and you'll be in NYC Penn Station in about 25 traffic-free minutes if you so choose.. it's the last stop so no getting lost either..and hop in a cab from there to wherever you're going?;-) The train will run $12.50 p/p including the airtrain;-) Best.. and enJOY!

That won't include tolls or tips which can add another $20-25 on plus the traffic. I went to NYC in May and used NJ Transit, it was $12.50 each including the air tran. You take the air tran to Newark Airport train station and get a train to NY Penn, took 25 minutes and we were in Manhattan, very easy to do, cheap and no traffic!

Hi there! We just got back from our NYC trip. Used Dial 7 to get from Newark to Manhattan. With tolls and tip, it was about $82. And, to be honest, it was a bit of a nightmare. The drivers to and from were great, but Dial 7 messed up my reservation several times. We waited at the airport for 45 minutes for a car, even though I called and was told 6 to 8 minutes. So incredibly frustrating. Next time, well take the AirTran option.

Hi adslcfc, would be please let me know where you bought tickets to the air tran then the NY Transit? We are arriving in Newark aiport end of November and would like to take the same route you did to get to Grand central station. Thanks for your help!

It's Penn Station, not Grand Central. You don't buy tickets for the AirTrain, they're included in the NJTransit ticket. You buy the tickets at the train station at the airport. If you actually need to get to Grand Central, you'll need to either take a cab or a subway from Penn Station to get there.
