Checking out the the World Fair globe..

I will be seeing a Mets game in Sept on my visit to NYC with a college buddy. Is it possible from the subway station where you get off for the Mets game to walk over to the park area where the Globe and towers are that are from the Worlds fair? If so any idea about how far of a walk it is?

It is off the same subway stop on the opposite side of the tracks from the Mets stadium, past the tennis stadium, maybe a 10 minute walk.

You might also want to do a bit of exploring in Queens as well when you are there.

If you take the tram from Manhattan to RI, you can catch the F train from Roosevelt Island and change to the 7 train in Jackson Heights to get to Flushing Meadow

We plan on doing the tram early, upon arrival, then going down to catch the ferry, then hit EC then a late lunch before heading out to the game....
